<p>This project’s overall objective is to contribute to a safe environment for women and girls in Jordan through the prevention of negative practices and behaviours focusing on child marriage as a form of GBV. Through working with national authorities, the commission aims to (1) positively influence capacities, attitudes and knowledge of stakeholders regarding implementation of legislation and practices linked to child marriage, (2) improve communities’ attitudes and behaviours toward child marriage and other gender-related issues, and (3) improve their capacities and those of their partners in managing women-related interventions.</p>

<p>This project is a continuation and expansion on the work of the Working Group for Persons Affected by the Syrian Crisis (WG PASC), a protection advocacy network of 26 national and local CSOs. WG PASC was formed in 2016, and works to enhance the capacity and space for civil society organizations in Lebanon to influence their government and international actors to adopt policies that more effectively meet the needs of vulnerable displaced persons and host communities, and implement them effectively. The project aims to enhance the capacity of the Working Group to influence policies and help vulnerable rights holders enjoy rights and access protection, and influence protection policies and practices to improve affected communities’ protection environment and access to basic services and rights.</p>

<p>This three-year project (2019-2022) implemented by Tamkeen, Jordan aims to strengthen national capacities towards an enhanced protective and preventive environment related to child labour. The project supports governmental stakeholders, CBOs, advocates, and also media personnel in targeted communities to be able to identify and respond to child labour issues with quality service provision including referrals, legal services, and case management systems. The project also aims to create an active coalition to coordinate referrals and jointly advocate on child labour and child rights on strengthening legislation that prevent children from working in hazardous sectors and updating the “<span lang="EN-US">National </span><span lang="EN-US">Strategy </span><span lang="EN-US">to </span><span lang="EN-US">Combat </span><span lang="EN-US">Child Labour</span>” with the ultimate objective of having ‘begging’ formally recognized as the worst form of Child Labour in Jordan.</p>

The project is implemented in Irbid, Mafraq, Amman and Zarqa targeting Syrian refugees and Jordanian nationals. SIGI aims to build the capacities of 200 marginalized women through vocational trainings based on identified available jobs in partnership with the private sector, as well as build the capacities of 80 women on developing business plans - 15 of whom will receive grants to implement their own businesses. An Employment Unit will also be created in Amman to provide social, legal and professional consultations to targeted women, in addition to the provision of awareness sessions and recommendations to private businesses on decent work.</p>

The project responds to the increased demand of domestic second-hand clothing and shifts towards a proactive, development approach providing vulnerable communities with good quality clothing at micro-prices, allowing them a dignified experience within a sustainable approach.</p>

<p>In partnership with Save the Children Kurdistan and local NGOs, and in collaboration with government institutions and other UN agencies, the ILO adopts a multi-sectoral approach towards the prevention of the worst forms of child labour. The project forcuses on providing direct services for prevention, withdrawal and rehabilitation to 1500 children and provides livelihoods opportunities for 400 older siblings. The project also aims to develop the National Action Plan against Child Labour (NAP) at the request of the government, and undertake a range of advocacy activities.</p>

<p>This project implemented by INITIATE and Teach for Lebanon, aims to improve social cohesion and reduce tension within communities by promoting inclusion, non-violence and empathy by implementing the 1001 Nights Life Skills and Civic Education Program across Lebanon. This program, developed by Big Bad Boo Studios, is a successful and worldwide multi-platform educational entertainment curriculum that uses cartoons to teach 7-12-year olds life skills and civic values, including human rights, democracy, gender equality. It is also used to provide children in conflict with psycho-social support and build resilience amongst vulnerable children as a tool to prevent violent extremism. The project aims to target 27,750 refugee children in 105 safe spaces, 30,400 host community and refugee students in 150 public schools and 1,900 teachers across Lebanon.</p>

<p>With the support of the RDPP, the DSP will produce eleven research products over three years covering the three durable solutions, while ensuring that applied research is responsive to a changing context and continues to feed into advocacy priorities. The DSP will also deliver a multi-year durable solutions advocacy workstream that builds on DSP research, and ensure that findings reach key stakeholders in the region and beyond.</p>

<p>This project’s overall objective is to contribute to a safe environment for women and girls in Jordan through the prevention of negative practices and behaviours focusing on child marriage as a form of GBV. Through working with national authorities, the commission aims to (1) positively influence capacities, attitudes and knowledge of stakeholders regarding implementation of legislation and practices linked to child marriage, (2) improve communities’ attitudes and behaviours toward child marriage and other gender-related issues, and (3) improve their capacities and those of their partners in managing women-related interventions.</p>

<p>This project is a continuation and expansion on the work of the Working Group for Persons Affected by the Syrian Crisis (WG PASC), a protection advocacy network of 26 national and local CSOs. WG PASC was formed in 2016, and works to enhance the capacity and space for civil society organizations in Lebanon to influence their government and international actors to adopt policies that more effectively meet the needs of vulnerable displaced persons and host communities, and implement them effectively. The project aims to enhance the capacity of the Working Group to influence policies and help vulnerable rights holders enjoy rights and access protection, and influence protection policies and practices to improve affected communities’ protection environment and access to basic services and rights.</p>
