New Partnership in Lebanon with Mercy Corps / Lebanon

A new partnership is signed today between Mercy Corps and the European Regional Development Programme (RDPP) under the Social Stability pillar in Lebanon. The project entitled “IJMAA+” (“to gather” in Arabic) will be implemented by Mercy Corps and their partner Peace Labs in 4 to 5 municipalities in the Bekaa to contribute to the improvement of good governance and collaborative mechanisms among local government and constituents and build local capacities to support stabilisation needs and reduce drivers of tension.

Directly, the 10-months IJMAA+ program will target 4 to 5 municipalities and their respective public officials, members of 3 to 4 local Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and local youth to create a multi-layered reinforcement of messaging and initiatives to support good governance practices adoption and positive peacebuilding. As such, the program expects to indirectly benefit between 50,000 and 100,000 people in the 4 to 5 targeted Bekaa municipalities.
